Is
it your week to purify the Cups & Dishes? If so….
ALL
Cups AND Dishes should be rinsed with water so that any remaining
residue/particles of the consecrated wine and bread is removed from the
vessels. The water should be poured down the Sacrarium (small round
sink) in the sacristy. This sink drains directly into the ground, thus
avoiding the pipe/sewage systems.
After this
is done, the cups and plates are washed with soap and warm water in the
work area. The soap is underneath the sink. The towels for drying are
in the top first cupboard to the left of the doorway in the work area.
The plates
are placed in the cupboard above the sink and the cups are left out on
the tray for Gene. Father’s chalice and dish from hosts are placed in
the large center cupboard in the sacristy. The decanter is placed in
the top right-hand cupboard. The bowl and pitcher used for the “washing
of hands” are cleaned and left on the top of the sink.
FYI:
We now have a supply of dishcloths for washing the vessels used for the
Eucharist. The cloths are stored in the cabinet behind the door along
with the towels.
